Position #1: Piano Instructor
Position #2: Strings Instructor
Qualifications: Our ideal candidate for each position will hold a bachelor’s degree in music and have advanced playing ability on their instrument. Applicants must have a desire to work with children, strong communication skills, and the ability to use a variety of teaching techniques to promote student success. Instructors must also be self motivated, reliable, and open to professional development.
Instructor Responsibilities:
Maintain a consistent schedule of weekly lessons for each student
Prepare lesson plans and teaching materials before each lesson
Prepare students to perform at recitals and community events
Collaborate with the student to choose appropriate pieces to perform
Assess student progress throughout the year and adjust teaching techniques as needed
Encourage, motivate and empathize with students in order to build a positive relationship
Compensation: BCAPA offers competitive pay based on education and teaching experience. We also provide professional development funding to select instructors each year.
