These instructors are identified as Apprentice Instructors. Upon registering, students will set up lesson times and days with the instructor. Suzuki & Strings Programs
BCAPA's Suzuki & Strings Program is comprised of highly skilled instructors. Many are specifically trained as Suzuki instructors and have upper level music degrees. Students have the option of learning traditional or Suzuki technique. Students can also participate in String Ensembles. Our full listings are found in the Registration Packet.
Traditional Strings - Students participate in weekly private lessons and perform in a String Recital at the end of the term. Students are also eligible to participate in BCAPA orchestras.
Suzuki School of Music - The Suzuki philosophy involves a special partnership among student, parent, and teacher using the techniques of listening, practicing and performing. Suzuki violin and viola lessons are offered for students of all ages and levels of experience. Suzuki lessons involve a private lesson and mandatory group class, both meeting once a week. Group repertoire classes work on technique and ensemble skills. Through the development of these skills, students are prepared for our group performances.
