 Kaleidoscope Dance Company

Does your child have a love for the stage and a passion for dancing? BCAPA’s Kaleidoscope Dance Company (KDC) provides performance opportunities to dance students ages 7 and up who love to shine on stage and entertain an audience. Our company performs at local festivals, community events, and fundraisers 8-10 per year and provides opportunities for exclusive workshops and educational field trips that are only available to Kaleidoscope Dance Company members. Dancers in our intermediate and advanced companies get real life experience in what it might be like to perform with a professional dance company in adulthood and are invited to a company sponsored trip to New York city every 2-3 years. Perhaps the most impactful part of joining Kaleidoscope Dance Company is the opportunity to form deep and lasting friendships with their fellow company members.  Kaleidoscope Dance Company is comprised of 3 sub companies; Ruby Company, Sapphire Company, and Emerald Company.

Ruby Company

Ruby Company is for beginning level dancers age 7 and up.  Membership is granted by invitation or instructor approval and does not require an audition. Requirements include taking at least 1 technique class per week with consistent attendance.

Sapphire Company

Sapphire Company is for intermediate level dancers and membership requires an audition at the beginning of each year. Requirements include taking at least 2 technique classes per week, one of which must be an intermediate or advanced ballet class.

Emerald Company

Emerald Company is for advanced level dancers and membership requires an audition at the beginning of each year. Requirements include taking at least 3 technique classes per week, choosing from 2 ballet classes, 1 jazz class and 1 modern class at the advanced level.

I’ve been dancing at BCAPA since I was three and I’ve never thought about dancing anywhere else. I really like how I’ve made so many life long friends and unforgettable memories with my classmates and teachers. I really like the size of classes because it allows the class to become really good friends with each other. I also enjoy the non-competitive nature of BCAPA. I can dance just because I love to dance, not to earn a trophy or be the best. To me, BCAPA is my home.
— Meredith LeFevre, KDC Dancer
I chose to dance at BCAPA because it offers many different classes and performing opportunities. I also love that BCAPA supports many more performing arts aside from dance. My favorite part of being a BCAPA dancer was the sense of community. I grew up going to BCAPA every week and really made a deep connection and friendship with my fellow dancers many of which I know will last a lifetime.
