BCAPA Shoe Drive: Help Our Dancers Get to NYC!
Have shoes you're ready to part with? Give them a second life while supporting local dancers!
Bethel College Academy of Performing Arts (BCAPA) is collecting new and gently worn shoes through November 22 to help raise funds for our advanced dancers traveling to New York City in summer 2027.
This will be BCAPA's fifth educational dance trip to New York City, where our dancers will have the opportunity to take classes from professional NYC instructors, experience the city's dance community, and get a glimpse of what it could be like to pursue dance professionally.
Every pair helps, and we're making it easy to donate!
How to Donate your Shoes
🍂 Fall Fest Drop-Off

At BCAPA’s Information table in front of Memorial Hall on the Bethel College campus
Coming to Fall Fest? Bring your shoes along! We'll have a convenient collection point outside Memorial Hall throughout the morning.
🚗 Drive-Through Shoe Drop-Off
Saturday, October 10 | 11:30 AM–1:00 PM
Bethel College campus — cul-de-sac near 1887 Café, accessible from 27th Street
No need to park or even get out of your car! Drive through, pop your trunk, and we'll take your shoe donations from there.

Can't make either event? Shoes can also be dropped off at BCAPA in the lower level of Memorial Hall through November 22.

If you live in Newton, North Newton, or Hesston, we're happy to arrange a porch pickup for your shoe donation.

What Shoes Can I Donate?
We're collecting shoes for all ages and all seasons, including:
Sneakers and athletic shoes
Dress shoes
Sandals
Boots
Children's shoes
And more!
Shoes should be new or gently worn, clean and dry, with no holes or tears and the soles intact. Please keep pairs together if possible.
Where Do the Shoes Go?
Your donated shoes do more than support our dancers! Through our shoe-drive fundraising partner, collected shoes are given a second life rather than being thrown away and are used to support micro-entrepreneurs in developing communities.
At the same time, BCAPA earns funds based on how many shoes we collect, helping offset the cost of our dancers' educational trip to New York City.
Clean out a closet, keep usable shoes out of the landfill, and help our dancers get one step closer to NYC!
