 Suzuki Strings Lessons

BCAPA offers Suzuki Strings lessons in Violin, Viola, and Cello to students ages 3 and up. The Suzuki philosophy is an internationally recognized method for learning that involves a special partnership among student, parent, and teacher. This method includes parental involvement, group lessons, and repetition to develop both technical skill and a strong ear for music. Suzuki strings lessons not only nurture a deep connection to music from an early age but also cultivate a sense of community, confidence, and a natural approach to learning, making it a unique and enriching experience for young musicians.

Suzuki lessons involve a private lesson and mandatory group class, both meeting once per week. Group repertoire classes work on technique and ensemble skills in order to prepare for performances throughout the year. BCAPA’s Suzuki Strings Program is comprised of highly skilled instructors, many of which hold upper level music degrees.

As part of a special music internship program, we also offer lessons with upper-level university music students upon recommendation of their professors. These instructors are identified as Apprentice Instructors. Upon registering, students will set up lesson times and days with the instructor.
